Sometimes you might actually find something good in the news sites, here's just one of the stories.

When a deer became stranded in the middle of an iced-over Canadian harbor, officers from Nova Scotia's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) came to the rescue, though it was no easy feat. The ice covering Antigonish Harbour was too thin to for a DNR team to risk walking across. Instead, helicopter pilot Dave Farrell devised a clever way to rescue the deer by using the aircraft's rotors the literally blow the deer to safety.

In 1999 the currency was born virtually and in 2002 notes and coins began to circulate. It rapidly took over from the former national currencies and slowly expanded behind the rest of the EU. In 2009 the Lisbon Treaty formalised its political authority, the Euro Group, alongside the European Central Bank.

In June 2012, the euro fell below US$1.24 for the first time in almost two years, following concerns raised over Greek debt and Spain's troubled banking sector.

It’s been a long time that I made an effort to write something nice for my wife Delphine, since tonight she’s already fast asleep, I thought of writing something nice for her to be surprised by. Here’s what I wrote while the rain outside inspired me.

RAINDROPS for my Love!

These raindrops were forlorn
They fell in the midst of a storm
The only redeemed feature it had
Was to fuse with a loving kiss
If, when we met pouring rain fell
The fall puddle came into our trance
Then - in the notch of two hearts
It gave life into tender lifeforms
My hopes were to carve up love...
Then giving nature’s tears a branch
So it can live as deliberated as adored
Then inhabit wildly within our hearts.
As you well know, I love you more!

THREE RELIGIONS!

All from the Middle East and one crazier than the other!! This is why religion should be abolished, it creates hatred and violence not love! This comes days after survey results taken in 2010 were released that found; 52% of irish catholics want to remain in the UK and 33% of irish catholics want a united Ireland. 90% of protestants want to remain in the UK. It appears that the vast majority of the people in Northern Ireland support remaining in the Union.

Belfast violence flares again as police attacked

The BBC's Mark Simpson reports from lower Newtownards Road in east Belfast

Violence has flared for a second night at a sectarian interface near a Catholic enclave in east Belfast.

Petrol bombs, missiles and fireworks have been thrown at police lines in the lower Newtownards Road-Short Strand area of east Belfast on Tuesday.

Two water canon vehicles have been brought to the area but have not been used yet.

There is a significant police presence in the area following Monday's sectarian clashes.

The trouble has been reported as the most serious in the area for a decade.

Earlier on Tuesday a senior police officer described shots aimed at officers during rioting in east Belfast on Monday night as "attempted murder".

Violence erupted at the interface at about 2100 BST on Monday.

My personal thought on this is that sadly there's bad news, there's no 72 virgins in Christian heaven? Good thing I'm going to Atheist's heaven - I won't tell you what's up there for people like me, then it will become too crowded and I may not get enough of my rewarding eternity!!!

What's the secret of long life?

Juana Rodriguez said: "only a few of her friends are alive" Few alive? I bet all of her school-mates died ages ago!! She is unique!

My wife's grandmother made 80 last week, we called her to wish a "Happy Birthday" it was 10-AM where she lives and we were told that she was out on the slopes already and she won't be back before lunch!! She skies all winter on daily basis with her grand-children and great grand-children, just like a 30 year old ... she is very active, we all think she will also make past the 100s, easy!! She is very active in the summer too, she swims at least for an hour every day in the morning... then, in the afternoon she plays tennis... at one time she totally wore me out and won the set!!

Check this woman out she is 126 today!! Happy Birthday Juana!!

Thumbs up to all the bloggers for keeping the conversation alive with interesting topics. I know I haven't been much around or posting but you know how it is when you have a family with children, they come first and it's a lifetime achievement with a lot of passion and loving care!! Best of times throughout life!

4 - Women oppression to be liberated? What side of freedom are we talking about? The comment about Voltaire among the panellists is absolutely daft, he died in 1778 - French women then weren't allowed to show their ankles, if he lived now he would most probably see the radical BURQA etc as a demise of women's liberty and freedom... are these radical women so brainwashed that they cannot see it?
